The QoS Concept

How QoS Works

Network switches and routers use queuing algorithms to manage traffic. Priority queuing places voice packets at the front of transmission queues. Weighted fair queuing ensures data traffic still progresses while voice receives guaranteed bandwidth.
End-to-End QoS
QoS must be configured consistently across the entire network path. A single unconfigured switch can create bottlenecks that defeat prioritization. Network audits verify QoS settings on all devices between phone endpoints.
