With VoIP and cloud communications being fast developed and widely used, enterprises are able to deploy the telephone solution based on distributed PBX communications or cloud/hosted communications networks at a lower cost. To prevent the interruption of calling and call-related services when headquarters server or cloud/hosted server disconnects, Redstone EGW series survivability appliances are designed to be deployed at local offices or branches to handle the calls instead of the disconnected server. After connection recovers, the calling services will be switched to the headquarters server or cloud/hosted server again.

Available models of EGW series survivability appliances offer analog (FXO/FXS) interfaces to meet the needs of varies companies with 50 employees.

Application1---Cloud/Hosed PBX Failover

- Users’ legacy lines connect to cloud PBX

- Obtain survivability from Redstone survivability appliance when cloud PBX is down

Application2---POTS Replacement

The Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) is gradually being phased out in many areas as telecommunications companies shift towards modern digital and internet-based communication technologies.

Telecom operators are raising monthly service fees on the analog landline and PRI lines, drive users to migrate to the IP based platforms, which offer more advanced features, cost savings, and greater flexibility.

On the enterprise side, beside migrate to VoIP system, some of the clients still want to keep the analog terminals for some emergency critical scenarios, such as analog elevator emergency button, call box, fire alarm, etc.
